Grantham man damages girlfriend’s car

A MAN admitted damaging his partner’s car after an argument at a wedding on September 1.

Daniel Burnett, 28, of Dale Road, Grantham, left the passenger wing mirror of the car hanging off and the indicator broken.

Marie Stace, prosecuting, said the couple argued while at Belton Woods Hotel and the victim left Burnett there.

When she went back the next day to collect her car she noticed the damage and suspected him.

He later rang her to apologise for causing the damage.

Rory Macmillan, representing Burnett, said his client had since fixed the wing mirror and was waiting for the part to fix the indicator.

The conviction put him in breach of a conditional discharge, which he was given in March after arguing with door staff, police and street wardens outside Barcode.

Magistrates fined Burnett £70 for the criminal damage and £50 for breaching his conditional discharge.

He was also ordered to pay £30 towards costs and £15 victim surcharge.
