Grantham pays its respects to servicemen at Remembrance Day parade and service
A sombre march through Grantham was watched by hundreds of people on Remembrance Sunday as people paid tribute to our fallen heroes.
There was silence in St Peter’s Hill as the annual parade passed through the town in the morning, on the way to a special remembrance service at St Wulfram’s Church, given by Canon Christopher Andrews.
Poppy wreaths were laid at the war memorial in the churchyard by cadets, Mayor of Grantham Ian Stokes, Grantham MP Nick Boles, representatives of the Armed Forces and various associations, including the Royal British Legion.
After the service, the parade returned through the centre of town, with a salute in St Peter’s Hill.
