The manager of a new fund-raising shop in Grantham says it has received a lot of help from people since it opened earlier this month.

Sue Power, who manages the Sue Ryder shop in The Pantiles, Grantham, said: “We have had lots of donations and lots of people have been really helpful.”

The shop raises money for the Thorpe Hall Hospice Appeal which aims to raise £6m to help extend the hall. Thorpe Hall provides end-of-life care for patients from across the region, including Grantham.

The Grantham shop will take all kinds of donations including electrical goods, clothes and bric-a-brac.

l Sue said she would like to take on any students who are working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award and allow them to work some voluntary hours towards their award. Anybody interested should call into the shop.
