Gross indecency case too serious for Grantham magistrates

A man accused of sexual offences against children was told his case was too serious to be heard at Grantham Magistrates’ Court.

Mark Keane of Barrack Square in Grantham denied all 26 charges of gross indecency which were allegedly committed between 1998 and 2004 against two children who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Keane, 51, made his plea with the help of a sign language interpreter in court.

District Judge John Stobart said: “The number and age are such I feel this is a matter that should go to the crown court.”

The case was adjourned until March 4 for the case to
be committed to the crown court.
