Headteacher ‘walking on air’ after her school is named the third best in the country
A village primary school has achieved the third best SATS results in the whole country.
The Marston Thorold’s Charity Church of England School is the top primary in the county and the third best in the country, results released today show.
The school’s headteacher Jan Marshall is delighted for staff, parents and pupils.
She said: “It’s fabulous news. We are all walking on air today, including the children.
“We are a family school. A small school with good contact with parents and a dedicated team of staff who are very highly qualified and work damn hard.
“But we also have brilliant children. It’s a pleasure to come to work.”
The 81-pupil school saw 100 per cent of their pupils achieve Level 4 in both English and Maths along with an average point score of 33.2.
Mrs Marshall said: “It’s a phenomenal achievement for everyone concerned.”
