The parents of a six-year-old devastated by the loss of her favourite cuddly toy, have created a Facebook page to help in the search.

‘Searching for Charlie’ has been set up by Sharron and Tom Marriott from Little Bytham to spread the word about their daughter Bella’s missing toy.

Sharron explained: “Charlie is my little six-year old girl’s much-loved and very raggedy, mucky grey cuddly dog. She has had him since her first birthday when he was given to her as a present from her childminder.”

Charlie was lost at Great Wood Farm Early Learning Centre in Boothby Pagnell on August 28, and despite the centre turning the place upside down to look for him, emailing parents and handing out flyers in case he had been mistakenly picked up by another child, there is still no sign of Charlie.

Now the family are hoping the power of social media will help reunite Bella and Charlie, while they have also contacted as many local organisations as possible.

“The lengths we are going to will give you a good indication of just how important this grubby grey dog is to our little girl. She is heartbroken.” added Sharron.

“Every so often her little face falls and she asks where Charlie is and worries if he’s OK.”

Bella has even offered two-weeks worth of pocket money in the form of chocolate to whoever finds and brings back her precious toy.

If you can help or if you know where Charlie is, contact the family via the ‘Searching for Charlie’ Facebook page.
