A budding veterninary surgeon has big plans to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for a charity that cares for stray animals is less developed countries.
Katy Noon will take on the climb in September in aid of the International Aid for the Protection and Welfare of Animals (IAPWA).
She said: “I am particularly interested in fund-raising for this charity as they not only provide care to the animals but also educate communities on animal welfare to prevent unnecessary cruelty and suffering.”
Katy returned to education in 2011, attending higher education at Grantham College. She is now studying bio-veterinary science at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in London as a mature student,
She said: “The process of returning to Grantham College, completing the diploma, receiving my offer from the RVC and starting a new life as a full time university student has been very character building, I have come to realise that if I put in enough hard work I can achieve anything.”
