Help Grantham Hospice in its Easter appeal

Instead of Easter eggs for loved ones, why not buy Easter chicks and help out a great Grantham cause?
Grantham Hospice is selling knitted chicks with Cadbury’s Creme Eggs nestled inside.
It was after a successful appeal for help from volunteers that 1,200 knitted chicks were made, exceeding a target of 1,000 set by volunteer Sandra Hollingshead. She firmly believed the hospice could better its previous target of 300-500 and raise £1,000 through the sale of the chicks.
Hospice assistant fund-raising manager Tina Dingley said: “We were absolutely delighted to pass our target of 1,000 chicks and we’re extremely grateful to all the people who have volunteered to knit these chicks, putting their time and effort into it.”
Over 100 volunteers helped with the project.
Now, the hospice needs donations of Creme Eggs or similar to fill the chicks, which will go on sale at the hospice, in Barrowby Road, and at the hospice’s charity shop in Welby Street. Donations can be made at either location or by calling the hospice on 01476 591010 for assistance.
