Volunteers are being sought to enter into the Christmas spirit by wrapping presents for patients who will be spending the festive period at Grantham Hospital.

Groups of young people and members of the hospital’s League of Friends will already be taking part in a bid to brighten up the Christmases of those who will sadly not be at home with their families – but more help is needed.

Wrapping sessions will start at 11am on December 18 and continue into the afternoon.

* A friendly and caring individual is also required to run a mobile library service at the hospital for those patients who are less mobile.

* Another voluntary post which is vacant is for a part-time journey co-ordinator for Grantham Area Community Transport, liaising by phone with clients and drivers.

* Meanwhile, charity Marie Curie Cancer Care is seeking a volunteer collection box co-ordinator to distribute boxes in as many locations as possible.
