‘I only had one enormous glass’ said drink driver
A MAN who drank a single glass of wine was found to be close to twice over the drink-drive limit.
Richard Jackson, 67, was pulled over by police who had earlier spotted his car parked at the White Lion in Colsterworth.
Jackson, of Rutland Street, Melton Mowbray, said he had only drunk one glass of wine but admitted “it was perhaps the biggest glass he has ever seen in his life”.
Jackson admitted drinking and driving and was banned from getting behing the wheel for three years.
Chair of magistrates Graham Harman said: “We have read the letters from different people on your behalf. It’s a shame to see a person like you before the court, especially if you say you only had one glass of wine. It must have been a big glass of wine.”
Jackson was fined £115 and ordered to pay costs of £85.
