GRANTHAM Town’s joint managers Jimmy Albans and Wayne Hallcro have established themselves as fans’ favourites at The Meres.

The managerial duo’s three-year plan came to fruition at the end of last season when they guided the Gingerbreads to promotion, winning the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South by a clear 10 points.

They had already gone close the previous season when they lost in the play-off final at Rushall Olympic.

Jimmy and Wayne have bolstered their squad for the assault on the Premier Division, and the team have begun training at The Meres.

The Gingerbreads’ first friendly match is at Quorn on July 14.

Highlights of the pre-season campaign at The Meres will be the visit of Lincoln City on July 18, and on July 28 former Grantham boss Gary Mills will bring his successful York City side to test the mettle of his managerial successors.
