Lincolnshire Police warn Grantham van drivers

POLICE believe criminal gangs may be travelling from a neighbouring county to Grantham to steal catalytic converters.

Inspector Gary Stewart said they believe the gangs are using youngsters to commit the crimes.

He said: “After drastically reducing this problem, we are starting to see a re-emergence and it is important that we raise awareness, particularly among van and 4x4 drivers as these vehicles are more vulnerable. We need people to report suspicious activity around vehicles to us immediately. The most important detail is the registration of the vehicle these criminals are using.”

The most recent offences are: Theft from two vans in Isaac Newton Way, one from a Mitsubishi Shogun in Reedings Road, Barrowby, and one from a Mitsubishi Shogun in Springfield Road on October 2.

Information to police on 101.
