Man killed in crash on the A1 south of Grantham - driver arrested
A driver was killed in a two-car crash on the A1 south of Grantham yesterday, Lincolnshire Police has announced this evening.
A 24-year-old man from Fife was driving a blue Ford Focus when the car collided with a blue Volkswagen Passat driven by a 30-year-old man from Kirton near Boston.
The man from Fife was taken to Peterborough City Hospital following the crash but later died from his injuries.
The driver from Kirton was taken to the same hospital but suffered only minor injuries. He was discharged after treatment and arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He was later released on police bail.
The crash happened at around 5.20pm on the southbound carriage of the A1 near to the Fox Inn close to the turn off for South Witham. The road was closed for more than six hours following the crash.
