A committee is looking for new members to help run Barrowby Memorial Hall.
The committee would like new members to bring fresh ideas on fundraising and to help with projects to improve the hall. Anybody interested can attend the hall’s AGM on Tuesday (September 9) at 7.30pm. Villgaers are also invited to attend to find out more about the hall and what members are trying to achieve.
Committee chairman Tim Caunt said: “From a difficult and costly closure in 2011, Barrowby Memorial hall has made a slow but steady recovery. Efforts have been made in the past three years to raise additional funds beyond the income from regular and one-off lettings, to enable more ambitious repairs, maintenance and refurbishment. Recent work has included replacement of damaged doors and decorative improvement to the entrance foyer.”
Fundraising efforts in the future will include an indoor market on October 18 and there is a planned World War One commemorative ceilidh in November with a share of the profits going to the Royal British legion Poppy Appeal.
