Councillors are being asked to refuse a plan for a zebra crossing outside a Grantham primary school.

Officers will recommend to members of the planning committee at Lincolnshire County Council on Monday that they should reject the plan for a crossing outside St Anne’s Primary School on Harrowby Road.

Officers say the plan should be refused due to the high number of objections received from members of the public.

Following consultation, Grantham county councillor and ward representative Charmaine Morgan delivered 81 pro-forma letters of objections, plus another 12 letters.

Many residents objected to the loss of parking spaces, but traffic speeds and HGVs were also mentioned. Coun Morgan and others have called for the reinstatement of the school crossing patrol.
