Triple world champion gymnast and 2012 Olympic Bronze medallist Beth Tweddle was the special guest at Priory Ruskin Academy’s Annual Awards Evening on Thursday.
Beth presented prizes to students, past and present, for successes in academic and other fields. Headmaster Clive Shepherd introduced the awards followed by a gymnastics display. There was also a musical interlude during the prize-giving.
Following the awards, Beth spoke of her achievements as a gymnast and how she recovered from injury just in time to compete for Team GB in the London 2012 Olympics where she won a Bronze medal.
Then Beth signed autographs (see video) and had her photograph taken with students and members of the audience.
