A teenager’s pet parrot has gone missing after flying out of the window of a Grantham home last night.

The green-cheeked conure called Squeak belongs to 15-year-old Lawrence Banks from Cold Harbour Lane, who is devastated after losing his pet.

Last night the family could hear Squeak’s cries from a tree in St Vincent’s Road where their garden backs onto, but there was no sight or sound of the bird this morning.

Lawrence’s father Andrew Banks said: “He is very tame with my son and will fly to him indoors, but we couldn’t get him back and we haven’t heard him this morning.

“He has quite a loud cry and is the size of a cockatiel. My son is really upset to have lost him.”

The family are offering a reward of £50 for Squeak’s safe return, and asks anyone who sees or catches him to contact them on 01476 592595 or 07720 636531.
