Restraining order imposed on Grantham man

A restraining order was imposed against a man who sent his ex-partner unwanted texts, letters and flowers.

Andrew Price, 51, of Station Road in Grantham, had split up with his partner but continued to contact her every day - sometimes hourly.

Despite the complainant going to the police, his messages did not cease and grew increasingly desperate to the point where he was threatening suicide.

Jim Clare, prosecuting, read a statement from the victim in which she said: “He is making my life a misery. I’m worried and scared Andrew will turn up at my house unannounced and I won’t be able to get him to leave.”

Mr Clare said Price also began contacting the victim’s neighbours.

Stuart Wild, defending, said: “There was no suggestion he was violent towards the complainant. All that she wants is a quiet life from him.”

Price admitted harassment and was given a restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85.
