Lincolnshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a 79-year-old woman was robbed in Grantham.

The incident took place on the grassed area in front of the Guildhall on St Peter’s Hill at around 5pm on Thursday, July 31.

The lady had just completed her shopping and was walking to get a taxi when she was attacked and pushed over by an unknown man who stole her shopping trolley.

She was not injured in the incident but was left very shaken up.

It is believed there may have been taxi drivers at the nearby rank who saw the robbery and police would like to speak to them, or any members of the public who witnessed the incident, as they may have information that could assist the enquiry.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Force on 101 quoting incident 274 of 12/08/2014.

Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
