A CENTURION invasion of Grantham Museum attracted more than 400 families on Saturday.

Organisers of the family fun day were delighted with the turnout, which saw children learning all about Roman history.

Mary Kirk of Grantham Museum said: “It was an absolutely splendid day - there’s no other words for it.

“The fun day ran from 10am until 4.15pm and it was busy throughout.”

The star attraction was seven Roman soldiers decked out in full regalia.

Mary said: “The soldiers did two displays with the kids and they absolutely loved it.”

A variety of other family fun days are planned for the near future, with a “Spring has Sprung” day planned for Wednesday, April 7 and “Something Fishy” on Friday, April 9th.

Both these events cost £3.60 and families must book early to be certain of a place.
