Rose named after Margaret Thatcher unveiled at council offices in Grantham

A new rose named after Maragaret Thatcher was unveiled this morning on the day of the former Prime Minster’s funeral.

The pink rose, called Grantham’s Thatcher Rose, was planted in a ceremony at the Civic Suite at the Guildhall by chairman of South Kesteven District Council Coun Rosemary Kaberry-Brown.

Coun Kaberry-Brown said that the rose would eventually be planted in Wyndham Park in Grantham. In the meantime the rose will be positioned next to the book of condolences in the civic area.
