Rotary Club of Grantham Kesteven welcomes two special guests

OLYMPIC torchbearer Laura Graves gave a “fascinating” presentation at a meeting of the Rotary Club of Grantham Kesteven.

The Grantham teenager, a young leader for Guides and Brownies, and also a platinum sports ambassador, was welcomed to the meeting by Rotary club president Tony Griffin.

Also welcomed as a special guest was Caroline Rossin, a fund-raiser for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young people.

Although Rainbows is based in Loughborough, Caroline told Rotarians the hospice cares for children with life-limiting conditions and their families throughout the East Midlands, including those in the Grantham area.

Caroline was presented with a cheque for £500 raised during past president Marion Strange’s year in office.

Current president Tony said: “The meeting was all about young people, from those who are given care by Rainbows to live the best lives that they can with life-limiting conditions to those who can and do achieve great things.

“They are an inspiration to us all.”
