President of Grantham Kesteven Rotary Club Arthur Ambrose presents Edward Sawford of 1st Waltham Dollywaggon Explorer Scouts with a cheque for 100.

A Harby Explorer Scout recently gave an interesting talk to Grantham Kesteven Rotarians.

Edward Sawford, a 15-year-old member of the 1st Waltham Dollywaggon Explorer Scouts, is aiming to raise £3,500 for him and another scout to attend the 2015 World Scout Jamboree in Japan, where the theme is ‘The Spirit of Unity’.

Edward will not know who the other scout is that he is funding, only that they are from a poor country, until he arrives in Japan.

Edward had to attend a rigorous selection camp to be nominated for the event and hopes that he will be part of the 1,500 British scouts to attend.

He has already been presented with a cheque for £100 from President Arthur Ambrose to go towards his target. If anyone would like to help fund Edward to go to Japan call 01949 860067 or email: joy@sawford.com
