Serviceman receives MBE
Howard Lambley-Steel has received the MBE for services to the armed forces.
A SERVICEMAN from Grantham has received the MBE at an
investiture ceremony at
Buckingham Palace.
Howard Lambley-Steel - known to many as Joe - has served with the RAF for 38 years, currently working as a Service Community Support Officer at RAF Odiham in Hampshire.
Howard attended the Boys’ Central School in Grantham from 1961 to 1966 and then worked at Foster’s Barber’s in High Street, Grantham, until 1970.
He became a cadet with Grantham’s Air Training Corps as a teenager before joining the RAF.
Howard’s MBE was awarded for services to the Royal Air Force and welfare.
His investiture was carried out by Prince Charles.
