Villages to the north of Grantham have seen a steep rise in crime over the past week, according to the area’s neighbourhood policing team.

Residents are urged to secure their property and avoid leaving items in gardens or on display. Garage and shed doors, in particular, should be locked and bicycles locked away.

In a further warning from the neighbourhood policing team, villagers in Ancaster are asked to be vigilant as rogue traders have targeted the village recently. They are charging large amounts of money to do gardening.

Anyone with suspicions should call police on the non-emergency 101 number.
