ASHER Swimming Pool Centre of Fulbeck celebrated 25 years of service by a member of staff.

Keen fisherman John Devonish was presented with a fishing holiday in Cumbria.

John Asher said: “John was one of the last soldiers. His last job was filling in a hole on the island’s airport runway caused by our own Vulcan, flown out of Lincolnshire, to render the airport useless to the Argentines.

“Since then he has been digging holes for swimming pools for the Asher team!”
