Up-and-coming rock band Matt Grocott and The Shrives are about to set off on their biggest UK tour to date.

The Grantham four piece consisting of lead singer and guitarist Matt Grocott, lead guitarist Josh Horsfall, bass player Tom Shelton and drummer Joe Michelson, will be touring cities across the UK from tomorrow.

The band whose tracks blend rock, country, ska and punk, say that fans can expect ‘rock ‘n’ roll’ at their gigs.

They will be supporting Californian rockers Emily’s Army, whose drummer Joey Armstrong they met earlier this year when they were invited by his dad and Green Day front-man Billie Joe Armstrong to record an album at Jingletown Recording Studios.

Starting at the Undertone in Cardiff from 8pm tomorrow, Matt Grocott and The Shrives will then perform every night this week at venues ranging from a house party in Bristol to the three-floor Sound Control club in Manchester.

Also joining them on the tour are bands Wasters and Swimmers, with tickets available on the door.

Fans can catch them at ‘Feeb’s House’ in Bristol on August 14, address to be confirmed, and at London’s The Garage on August 15, before they head to The Maze in Nottingham on August 16.

They will then be at Manchester’s Sound Control on August 17, Think Tank: Digital in Newcastle on August 18 and finish at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow on August 21.

The tour comes after their performance last weekend at The 100 Club in London, the legendary venue which has previously played host to The Clash and Sex Pistols - in whose footsteps the local lads are keen to follow.

The Grantham rockers also have more gigs planned for later this year, including back in their hometown at The Castlegate on September 13.
