Update: No life-threatening injuries to casualties cut from wreckage near Caythorpe

Three people cut from a wreckage following a road traffic collision near Caythorpe were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The trio were cut from a Fiat Punto by firefighters called to the scene in Caythorpe Heath Lane yesterday (Tuesday), just before 6pm.

The blue Punto had collided with a white Fiat Ducato van a stone’s throw from children’s adventure centre PGL Cythorpe Court.

The van driver suffered whiplash.

The female driver of the Punto appeared to suffer no injuries, one passenger suffered a broken leg and the other head injuries. All three were taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for assessment and treatment.

The rural road was closed into the evening while the vehicles were removed. No arrests were made in connection with the incident.
