New town crier Nobby Clark made one of his first speeches at the first Music in the Market Place event today.

Mr Clark was unveiled as the new town crier, wearing robes in the colours of Grantham Town Football Club, earlier outside the Guildhall by Mayor of Grantham Coun Ian Selby.

In his speech Mr Clark told the crowds in the Market Place that the Mayor was grateful to a number of people and organisations for their support of his chosen charities and also announced that Coun Selby would be undertaking the ice bucket challenge during half-time at the Grantham Town game later in the day.

Music in the Market Place was organised by Grantham Retailers Association in partnership with Grantham at a Glance, a partnership of local businesses. Those acts who took part on the stage were Identity Crisis, Glen and Luna, Octovox, Swing Nouveau and CJ Hatt.
