Village primary school is marked “outstanding” by inspectors
“RAPID improvements” have enabled Denton Primary School to achieve the top status in an Ofsted inspection earlier this month.
It is fantastic news for the school following a “good” report last year.
Inspectors praised the village school’s provision for personal, social and health educaton and found that there are many opportunities to develop spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding.
However, inspectors declared that, to improve further, teachers must “ensure that marking consistently informs pupils how well they are doing and how to improve their work”.
Headteacher Sheri Edwards said: “I am very proud of the achievements the school has made over the last three years and this has been due to the support and dedication of a very able staff and supportive parents and governors.
“The school is working at an excellent standard and I would expect no less for our children.
“However, we are not complacent and there are always improvements to be made as we continue to make our school better and better.”
Chair of governors Julie Harrod added: “This is well-deserved recognition of the tremendous hard work, dedication and commitment invested by all those involved in ensuring that our children’s education is paramount.”
The grade places Denton Primary School in the top six per cent of schools nationwide to achieve “outstanding” status by Ofsted.
