Woman arrested after Manthorpe Road crash in Grantham on Sunday

A driver was arrested yesterday following a two-car collision which closed Manthorpe Road in Grantham for several hours.

The 44-year-old Grantham woman, who was driving a Saab 93, gave a positive breath test and was arrested. The female driver of the other car, a Ford Focus, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. Fire crews had to cut off the roof to release her.

The incident happened at 4.30pm near Grantham hospital. Police and fire crews attended the scene and had to deal with a petrol leak. Anybody with information about the collision should call Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 347 of August 3.
