MISS Clare Kathleen Thorpe, daughter of Donald and the late Brenda Blackwell, of West End, Ingoldsby, and Mr Leslie Carl Jones, son of CLiff and the late Patricia Jones, of Penarth, South Wales, were married at St Peter’s Church, Redmile.
The service was conducted by the Rev Frederick Coulson, assisted by Minister John Dyson of Grantham Baptist Church, who is a friend of the couple.
Given away by her father, the bride wore an ivory tafetta gown, with bodice embroidered in beading and a train. She carried ivory roses with hydrangeas.
Matron of honour was Elaine Hickman. Bridesmaids were Sarah Jones, Bethany Thorpe, Megan Scotchmer and Freya Barton. Sarah and Bethany wore romantic, blue, three-quarter dresses and the others wore ivory satin dresses. They carried posies of hydrangeas.
Page boys were Jacob Davies and William Scotchmer, wearing a long-tailed suit with an ivory waistcoat.
Best men were Thomas Jones, David Bayliss and Dale Thorpe.
A reception was held at The Peacock Inn, Redmile.
A honeymoon will be spent in Port El Kantaoui, Tunisia.
Clare is an employment engagement officer and she enjoys travelling, dancing, dining out, keeping fit and films. Leslie is a former police officer and now trainee teacher. He enjoys photography, keeping fit, dancing, music, theatre and football, being a supporter of Grantham Town FC.
