AN eight-year-old girl is taking part in a series of charity fund-raisers in an attempt to raise as much money for Age UK as possible.
Molly Sculthorpe, of Hazelwood Drive, Gonerby Hill Foot, decided to raise the money in memory of her great-grandmother, Margaret Novis, who died when Molly was just 3-years-old.
Molly said: “I loved her very much. It’s the first time I’ve done anything on my own to raise money for charity.”
Molly sold some of her toys at a car boot sale and is planning to hold a coffee morning and complete a sponsored bike ride on Sunday.
Molly’s mum Pauline is really proud of her daughter’s commitment to raise money for the charity.
Pauline, who is going with Molly on the 10 mile bike ride, said: “She was very close to her great-grandma and decided she wanted to do something for her.
“I’m very impressed by what she is doing, it was all her own idea.
“And I was really proud of her at the car boot sale, she did all the selling.”
If you would like to support Molly, who hopes to raise £100 for the charity, you can donate money or items to sell to the Age UK shop, in Market Place, Grantham.
Pauline added: “I’m really pleased with how much people are supporting her. She has got lots of sponsors.”
