The cast of ‘Allo ‘Allo, performed by Grantham Dramatic Society at the Guildhall last week, took Movember to heart by being sponsored to grow real moustaches for their characters.

Movember is an annual event designed to raise awareness of prostrate and testicular cancer by encouraging men to grow moustaches for the month.

GDS chairman Helen Pack said: “We want our actors to look as much as possible like the original TV characters. As our production coincides with Movember, our actors decided to raise money for charity as well as achieving an authentic look.”

Mark Brown, playing Officer Crabtree, said: “ I’ve never taken part in Movember before, but I’m happy to take part and raise awareness of the campaign.”
