MR Andrew John Smith, of The Rise, Navenby, near Lincoln, has died at home. He was 81.
Mr Smith was born in Cove, Hampshire.
He was the husband of Brenda, father of Martin and Jenny and grandfather of Lola and Ozzy.
For many years Mr Smith lived in Caythorpe until moving to Navenby in 2010.
He served in the Royal Air Force for 35 years.
He was a parish councillor in Caythorpe for a number of years and he also ran the parish hospital car scheme as well as assisting with the village sports club.
Mr Smith was keen on DIY, painting and decorating.
The Ven Brian Lucas conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, with an address by Sir Michael Simmons.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
Donations were received for the RAF Benevolent Fund and the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
