MR Darrel James Beck, of Long Street, Great Gonerby, has died in Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. He was 61.
Born in Grantham in January 1951, he was the son of the late Jim and Ada Beck.
He was the loving partner of Bridget, devoted dad to Sally and Tracey and a wonderful grandad to Stacey.
He was brother to Terry, Rodney, Kevin, Peter and Jennifer, father-in-law to Colin and Keith and brother-in-law to Neville, Maggie, Margaret, Glynis and Susan.
Mr Beck was educated at St Hugh’s Secondary Modern School.
He started work at Aveling Barford, where he served his apprenticeship as a welder, and he worked there for many years. He had also worked for other companies including Walkers Steel, CMTC, Bell and Webster and Armstrong and Holmes.
His interests included all sport, especially golf and football. He also loved to spend time at his caravan on the East Coast.
Robert Holland conducted the funeral service at St Sebastian’s Church, Great Gonerby. Burial followed in Hill Top Cemetery, Great Gonerby.
