Mr J. R. Doughty

MR John Raymond Doughty, of Derwent Road, Grantham, has died in St. Edmunds Nursing Home, Grantham. He was 69.

Born in Cleethorpes, he was the eldest son of Norman and Audrey Doughty. He was brother to Les, David, Kath and Sally.

In 1986 he married Jacquie and became stepfather to Robert, John and Alexander. He later had 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr Doughty worked for the Post Office for over 32 years and worked his way to the position of Royal Mail executive officer.

He was a fan of bowling, both indoor and outdoor. He also loved reading and socialising with his friends and family.

The Rev Andy Hawes conducted the funeral service at St Peter’s Church, Ropsley.
