MR Martin Pratt, of Dembleby, has died at home. He was 59.
He was born in Rhyl, North Wales in 1952.
He married Mary in 1971 and had two children Chris and Debbie, and later seven grandchildren.
In 1989 he married Suzan.
After leaving school he trained as a joiner but shortly after he decided to join the Royal Air Force. He was quickly promoted to the rank of corporal and transferred to the SAS, where he saw a lot of active service.
While in the SAS he began taking his qualifications to become a teacher. In 1977 he left the army and became a site agent for Barratt Homes while he finished his teaching qualifications. A year later he became a teaching assistant in a school in Nottinghamshire before taking up his post at Central Technology and Sports College in 1979.
Mr Pratt had a passion for the outdoors and this did not change during his time at the school. He took the students on trips around the world and became the Duke of Edinburgh Awards co-ordinator for Lincolnshire. He also started HeartStart, which taught first aid to the students, and the Lives First Responders Group in Osbournby.
In 2008 he retired due to ill health after 30 years of teaching.
The funeral service was held at St Lucia Church, Dembleby, conducted by the Rev Hall Speers. Cremation followed in Grantham.
