MR Peter Anthony Spering, of Huntingtower Road, Grantham, has died in Nottingham City Hospital. He was 76.
Born in Nottingham City Hospital, he was the son of Mary Gash and Ephraim Spering and brother of Ivy Green.
Mr Spering worked as a cobbler for a while, travelling a 30-mile round trip by bike to and from work. He then worked for BMARC as a machine setter for 30 years.
He could often be found working in his garage or shed and was very keen on DIY. He also played the organ and he enjoyed creating music for people to hear.
The Rev Peter Willis conducted the funeral service at Wilford Hill Crematorium West Chapel, West Bridgford, Nottingham.
