MR Richard John Bish, of Swinstead, has died in The Cedars Nursing Home, Bourne. He was 66.
Born in Stamford, Lincolnshire, he was the eldest son of the late George and Helen Bish, of Southwood Farm, Irnham, and twin brother to Katherine and brother of Neville and Caroline.
He was educated in Bourne and Grantham.
Mr Bish worked for the HSBC Bank, starting in Lincoln, and moving to branches in Grantham, Melton Mowbray and Uppingham, before returning to Grantham, where he remained until his retirement.
For a number of years he served on Irnham Parish Council. He also regularly gave talks on family ancestry to various groups. An expert on rare plants, he often travelled to Japanese nurseries and he had articles about his garden published in national gardening magazines.
Following his retirement Mr Bish became a guide at Grimsthorpe Castle, a role he particularly enjoyed.
The funeral service was held at St John’s Church, Corby Glen, conducted by Canon Andrew Hawes.
