Mr Samuel Bernard Dexter, (known as Bernard), of High Street, Colsterworth, has died in Kings Court Nursing Home, Grantham. He was 85.
He was born on November 5, 1926, in Woolsthorpe by Colsterworth. He was the husband of Gisela and brother to the late Edward and Joan.
Mr Dexter worked for the United Steel Company before joining the Army in 1945 and remaining in service until 1947. He then worked for Mod’s Transport Garage for 37 years. His final job was at Biffa, where he worked for six years.
Mr Dexter enjoyed grasstrack racing, darts and football.
The Rev Lesley Taylor conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.

Funeral arrangements were by Geeson Funeral Directors, Westgate, Grantham.
