MRS Elsie Younger, of Grantham, has died in Birchwood Retirement Home, Dudley Road, Grantham. She was 89.

Born in Grantham, she was the fourth eldest of 10 children born to John and Caroline Slater.

She later met James Younger, an old family friend, and they were married in 1985. They were married for over 22 years until his death in 2008.

In her earlier days she was a member of the Royal British Legion, getting involved in lots of work for charities. She was also a keen darts player in the Grantham leagues, playing for the Legion, and later on for the Spread Eagle and Grantham Electric Club, where she also enjoyed a game of bingo.
