MRS Florence Louisa Fish, of Belvoir House Care Home, Grantham, has died there. She was 92.
Mrs Fish was born in Grantham, the daughter of John and Florence Harder and sister to Norah, Connie and Jean.
She was the widow of Horace Fish, mother of David, Pauline and Linda and she had three grandchildren.
On leaving school she was in service to the vicar of St John’s Church. She then worked in a greengrocers until becoming a chambermaid at the George Hotel.
On her marriage she ran the Blue Harbour and Lord Nelson public houses with her husband.
In her younger days she loved working in her garden. She liked to start her day with the Mirror crossword and was vexed if she couldn’t finish it.
The Rev Nicky Marshall conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.
Family mourners included: John and Linda Graves, John and Pauline Chadwick, David and Sylvia Fish, Constance Bell, Norah Leeson, Geoffrey, Janet and Richard Leeson.
Other mourners included: Martyn Ivermee, Wendy Clapton, Julie.
Funeral arrangement were by Robert Holland Funeral Directors, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
Donations were for the British Heart Foundation.
