MRS Gladys Mary Sale, of Chandos House, Grantham, has died in Grantham Hospital. She was 83.
Born in December 1928, in Grantham, she was the daughter of Mabel and Arthur Grice. She had a brother, Jack, now deceased.
In 1948 she married Bill Sale and they had three children, Alan, Andrew and Martin.
At the age of 14 she left school and began work at Aveling Barford. She then worked at The George Hotel, followed by employment at John Wallwork and Sons. Finally, she worked at North’s paper shop. Following her retirement, she worked a volunteer at the PDSA charity shop.
Mrs Sale enjoyed gardening, holidaying abroad with her husband and coach trips.
The Rev John Bruce conducted the funeral service at St John the Evangelist Church, Station Road, Grantham. Burial followed in Grantham cemetery.

Other mourners included: Joe Madge, Donna Welsh, Danielle Carroll, Andrew Welsh, John and Jill Lenton, Jean Childs, Susan Harris, Richard Hill, Lee French, Rosa Turner, Mrs B. Pashley, Beryl Allen, Wendy Baxter, Val Taylor, Monica Johnson, Rosie Sale and Denise Booth.
Funeral arrangements were by Geesons Funeral Directors, Westgate, Grantham.
Donations were received for the PDSA.
