MRS June Murton, of Teesdale Road, Grantham, has died in Grantham Hospital. She was 84.
Born in Leeds, Yorkshire, she was the daughter of Addlesee and Ida Cummins, and sister of Norman.
She married Peter Murton in November 1950.
At the age of 14 she began an apprenticeship at Mabel Hatton’s hairdressing salon, and continued to work there until her retirement after 46 years.
Mrs Murton was keen on embroidery, flower arranging and dancing, until restricted by ill health, when she continued to enjoy watching television and reading.
Robert Holland conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.
Other than the immediate family, mourners included: Mr and Mrs Barber, Beryl Tyson, Brian Proctor, Irene and Alan Bennett, Evelyn Richardson, Jean Hatton, Betty Nicholson, Mavis Frisby, Charles Rolt, Mr Bonshor, Mr Potter, Ginny Dixon, David Tibbett, Len Holden, Andrew Chalice, Dawn Potts, Netta Bonshor, Margaret Shipley, David and Brenda O’Flanagan, Elsie Rowley, Mr Veary, Beryl Dickinson and Graham Bennett.
Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
Donations were received for the Parkinson’s Society.
