MRS Jenifer Vanda McDonald, of Thames Road, Grantham, has died in Grantham Hospital. She was 74.

She was born in Edward Street, Grantham, in July 1937, the daughter of Percy and Dorothy Money. One of five children, she was the middle child and had three sisters and one brother. She lived in Grantham all her life.

She had five children, four sons and one daughter and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was married to Mac for 36 years but they had been together 53 years.

Mrs McDonald had worked for Kesteven Executive Council, (NHS) Finkin Street in 1954. She then went on to work at Coles Cranes and then Aveling Barford, once her children were all grown up. She worked as a dinner supervisor at St Anne’s School, The National School and St Sebastian’s School, Great Gonerby.

Mrs McDonald was a full-time foster mum.

She played the trumpet in the town band and she loved music, also playing the organ. She enjoyed shopping, going out to lunch, the theatre, watching all the tv soaps, reading, knitting and gardening.

The Rev Janet Rogers conducted the funeral service at St Anne’s Church, Harrowby Road, Grantham. Burial followed in Grantham cemetery.
