MRS Sybil Flaherty, of The Square, Barrowby, has died in Lincoln County Hospital. She was 77.
Born in Barrowby, she was the eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Green.
She became a widow at the age of 29, and had one son David.
She later married Joseph Flaherty and had two further children Patricia and Sarah and was a grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her sister Janet Handsley and brother Brian Green.
At the age of 14 she left school and worked in a bakery until her first marriage. Later she worked in the NAAFI, where she met Joseph.
On returning to work some time later she worked in the Wimpy Cafe, then at Lynes Printers and finally at the King’s School as a cleaner.
Mrs Flaherty was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, swimming and family holidays. However, she enjoyed nothing better than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Rev John Cook conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, followed by commital at All Saints’ Church, Barrowby.

Funeral arrangements were by Geesons Funeral Directors, Westgate, Grantham.
Donations for the Waddington Unit at Lincoln County Hospital amount to £125.
