GRANTHAM Museum has appointed a new general manager in Jayne Robb.
Jayne is the relaunched museum’s first full-time general manager and will be given the job of co-ordinating volunteers and helping develop the shop.
Jayne said: “Grantham Community Heritage Association has done a wonderful job.
“I share their passion for this town’s heritage and see it as a tremendous privilege to be able to develop their ideas.”
Graham Jeal, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said: “I am delighted that Jayne has agreed to be our first full time manager. Jayne, who has an educational background will coordinate the hundreds of volunteers that have come forward, help our retail committee develop the gift shop, engage with local schools and other youth organisations and build on expanding our programme of events.
“Having a full time, on the ground, museum manager will allow us to open for longer and as of 1 September the Grantham Museum and gift shop will be open to the public every Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10 - 4 and for additional activities such as educational visits Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
“In order to unlock additional funding, we have committed to the Heritage Lottery Fund and other grant giving bodies that we will steadily increase our engagement with the local community and the presence of Jayne will help deliver this.”
