A CONCERT by Grantham youth band Music Machine on Monday evening raised almost £7,500 for armed forces charity Help for Heroes.
Around 900 people attended the concert at Grantham’s Meres Leisure Centre to hear a selection of Christmas music, as well as film themes and music relating to the armed forces.
The 76-piece band was joined on stage by a dozen RAF musicians and guest vocalists including 15-year-old Maddie Rowland, Maj Dennis Hannant and a choir including pupils from The Grantham Preparatory, Cranwell Primary and Highfields schools.
Paul and Katie Wilson who jointly run Music Machine said: “We were absolutely thrilled with the band’s performance and delighted to have raised almost £7,500 for Help for Heroes.”
