A NAKED calendar, which was made to support a breast cancer group, raised £780 when it went on sale last Saturday (December 11).

The Bare to Care Calendars, which feature 40 Grantham women, were put on sale outside the Jenny Wren shop in The George Centre.

One of the organisers, Kelly Spavins, said: “The response from the public was amazing in only four short hours we had raised nearly £800.”

The money from the calendars will go to Grantham Breast Cancer Support Group, which helps those suffering with the disease.

The calendars, which are £10 each, have now raised £1,000 and they are still on sale around the town.

All of the photographs in the calendar, which follows the theme of each month’s sponsor, were taken by one of the organisers of the project and local photographer Ruth McAuley of Iris Photography.

Kelly said: “I would like to thank all the ladies who took part in the calendar. You are all amazing, especially Ruth.

“Without all your hard work and amazing photos the calendar would not have been possible.”

Anyone who would like a calendar can get one from Jenny Wren, Oceans Health and Fitness, Susan Bird and The Atrium.
